2nd and 3rd Street Project UPDATE:

Project Scope For North 2nd and 3rd :
• COMPLETE - Repair of water main on Locust, 2nd and 3rd
• COMPLETE -Repair of sanitary line on 3rd
• UNDERWAY - Replacement of curbs and sidewalk from building face to curb
• Installation of new concrete and brick lined (soldier course) sidewalks
• Installation of trees, planters, landscape areas, street furniture, and other elements
• New lighting poles and fixtures
• Resurface of roadways

APRIL - Locust & Third (Water Main) COMPLETE
MAY - 3rd St. by NB&T (Water Main) COMPLETE
JUNE - Corner of 3rd and E. Lincoln Hwy (Sanitary) COMPLETE

COMPLETE - Curb and gutter on 3rd
UNDERWAY - Curb and gutter on 2nd
- Parking will be obstructed

- Possible spot closures at times
COMPLETE - Small storm sewer will need to be repaired at corner of 2nd and Locust St. that will involve a one lane closure at times.
JULY/AUGUST– Bricks, lighting, sidewalk & more

• Installation of trees, planters, landscape areas, street furniture, and other elements
• New lighting poles and fixtures

LATE JULY/AUGUST – removal of curb
- Starting at RXR crossings
- Work will happen simultaneously on South 2nd and 3rd
AUGUST- Curb, Gutter & Sanitary Repairs

- Street closures will be necessary at times
SEPETEMBER/OCTOBER – remaining sidewalk and landscaping throughout project area
- Installation of lighting, street furniture, etc.

• Kiwanis Park, 11th and East Lincoln – Gazebo/welcome feature
• 10th Street at Lincoln Highway monument
• 6th Street streetscape
• Streetscape bump-outs
• Pocket park on East Lincoln by Munson’s Insurance
• Decorative street light poles on East Lincoln, 4th Street to 8th Street

Much of landscape plantings around islands COMPLETE

Precast stone monuments at 10th Street, and at park by Munson’s COMPLETE

West Lincoln Highway Resurfacing:
Project Area:
Lincoln Highway/ IL RT 38 from 4th Street to Stadium Drive
Project Scope:
Mill and resurface of the highway. At least 1 lane of traffic will remain open in each direction throughout the project.

Completion date is likely to be late fall.
